Changing Lives
Catherine ShawDuring the academic year 1993/4, PSI carried out three extensive surveys of young people during the year after they left compulsory education. The research design allows a thorough examination of initial post-school destinations. In addition, it provides information on progress, satisfaction and further transitions (for example college drop-outs and trainees gaining employment status) as well as comparing the differential experiences of young men and women and members of different ethnic groups.
