Background
Labour Market and Skill Trends 2000 is a Skills and Enterprise Network publication. It is written for people who are responsible for planning, or providing future education and training and for people who need to assess anticipated demands for skills in their own area or sector.
Labour Market and Skill Trends 2000 aims to help those responsible for planning by highlighting some of the current and projected regional and national trends that are likely to have an impact on the labour market in the next few years. The data has been gathered from a wide range of sources, including household surveys, official projections and registers and surveys of educational participation and attainment. The information provides a starting point for the detailed planning and assessment of likely demand and trends in the supply of skills.
