People with mental health conditions and pathways to work
Funded by: DWP
January 2008 to August 2008
Background, summary and aims
Mental health problems are widely recognised as a major cause of ill-health and sickness absence in the UK and people with mental health problems are over-represented among the unemployed and economically inactive.
This project explores how Jobcentre Plus Pathways to Work may better meet the needs of the heterogeneous mental health client group. The research draws on depth interviews with mental health clients who engaged with Jobcentre Plus Pathways to Work and a range of service providers working with them.
